AB - Group

AB +v blood group

B+ group

A+ Group

The A+ group is the highest-quality blood available for transfusions. It is collected from people who have been determined to be at low risk for HIV and other infections.

Rh-positive and Rh-negative are two different blood types. A person with Rh-negative blood does not have the protein on their red blood cells, while a person with Rh-positive blood does have the protein. The Rh blood type is important because it can cause problems during pregnancy. If a pregnant woman has Rh-negative blood and her baby has Rh-positive blood, their body will treat the baby's blood as if it is a foreign substance. This can lead to problems such as anemia and jaundice in the baby. It is important to get tested for the Rh blood type if you are planning on getting pregnant. If you are Rh-negative and your partner is Rh-positive, there are steps you can take to prevent problems during pregnancy.

There are four main blood types of ABO blood group system like; A, B, AB, and O. Each blood type is defined by the presence or absence of certain antigens on the surface of red blood cells. The Rh blood type is defined by the presence of the Rh factor, which is an antigen that can cause a person to have an allergic reaction if they receive blood from someone with a different blood type.

 

Rh Factor


The Rh factor is a protein found on surface of RBCs. If your blood has this protein, you are considered Rh-positive. If your blood does not have the protein, you are considered Rh-negative.

 

About 85% of people are Rh-positive. This means that their red blood cells contain the Rh factor. The other 15% of people are Rh-negative, which means that their red blood cells do not contain the protein.

 

If you have ever had a blood transfusion or been pregnant, you may have heard of the Rh factor. That’s because it can cause problems for some people if they are exposed to Rh-positive blood.

 

If you are Rh-negative and you come into contact with Rh-positive blood, your body will produce antibodies to the protein. The antibodies can attack the baby’s red blood cells, causing a condition called hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN). HDN can be mild or severe, and in rare cases, it can be fatal.

 

Fortunately, there is a treatment for HDN called Rho(D) immune globulin (RhoGAM). If you are Rh-negative and you come into contact with Rh-positive blood, your doctor can give you RhoGAM to prevent your body from making antibodies to the protein.

 

Rh Incompatibility

 

Rh incompatibility occurs when a pregnant woman has Rh-negative blood and the father of her baby has Rh-positive blood. This can cause problems for the developing fetus, including severe anemia and jaundice. If not treated properly, Rh incompatibility can lead to fetal death.
